The Elan SA Legends won the first-ever rugby match at the Cape Town Stadium - beating the star-studded International Legends 22-5 in their much-anticipated clash on Saturday afternoon.

The SA Legends, who certainly looked like they had been doing some work on the training ground, scored four tries to one against their international counterparts, who - of course - were captained by one Timmy Horan.

Horan and co., as we all know, were in great form in the Beer Tent at Hamilton's on Friday night and that might just have hampered their performance in front of the near 40,000-strong crowd at the Cape Town Stadium!

Hamilton's veteran Clinton van Rensburg scored the first-ever try at the 2010 FIFA World Cup venue, before Jonathan Aitken crossed to make it 10-0.

Paddy Howard pulled one back for the International Legends, but two tries - almost against the run of play - buried the visitors, who eventually went down 5-22.

The crowd were treated to a lap of honour from the Legends, before they settled down to take in a live performance from Flat Stanley and then watched the Stormers smash Boland 47-13 in a Super 14 warm-up match.

Below, find some great photos (taken by Carl Fourie) from the day's action in Green Point - at Hamilton's and the Cape Town Stadium, but you can check out a full picture gallery on Sport24 by clicking HERE!
