Bob and Rob's Xmas wishlist PDF Print E-mail

It's been a busy few months for the Cape Town Tens team, but CT Tens hosts Bob Skinstad and Robbie Fleck still found time to share their Christmas wishlists with us before the 25th.

Bob's Christmas wishlist for 2008:

(1) An eight-foot barrel at Jeffrey's Bay... Apparently there's a big swell coming from Port Elizabeth, and as I'm currently on holiday in Cape St Francis with my family, I will be able to nip up to J'Bay and catch that wave - although I'll probably almost kill myself in the process!

(2) I'd love to be able to catch a big cob - I can't fish, but I try and I'd dearly love to land a big one just to prove to myself that I can actually do it...

(3) Hopefully the 25th will be a nice sunny day and my family and I can enjoy a nice traditional South African Christmas, which involves time on the beach; gammon, chicken and salad for lunch; followed by a nice little afternoon snooze.

(4) I want - wait no, I demand! - a repeat from Proteas at the MCG and another hiding for the Aussies. That win in Perth was just fantastic, an early Christmas present as it were, but I want the real thing come Boxing Day - a series win.

(5) Last, but certainly not least, I am hoping for a good pre-season routine for the Adidas All-Stars; my team for the Cape Town Tens. What does that entail you might wonder - a gentle sweat, beers in a quiet place and the night ending in a sing-along, of course!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - thanks to everyone out there for the support thus far and here's to an exciting and memorable inaugural Cape Town Tens!

All the best,
Bob Skinstad

Fleckie's Christmas wishlist for 2008:

(1) A new Taylormade putter - I need to start converting those three-putts into two-putts, at the very least. I'm tired of always winning the 'most putts' award at golf days; especially with so many golf days on the agenda in 2009.

(2) To trim my bulging waistline in the New Year in time for the Cape Town Tens - especially after all the bread sauce, ham and turkey I'll be eating on Christmas day!

(3) To be punctual for all my meetings in 2009.

(4) For UCT to go one better than last year in the FNB Varsity Cup and to win it... by beating Stellenbosch in the final!

(5) To limit my beer intake at the Cape Town Tens welcome party on Friday, February 6 in order to be in good enough shape to play for my team on Day One of the 2009 Cape Town Tens!

Merry Christmas everyone - have a safe festive season and a good jol over New Years. Thanks for all the interest and excitement shown already over the Cape Town Tens and see you at Hamilton's next year!

Chat soon,
Fleckie
